AML & KYC Policy
Effective date: 1 January 2025. Our commitment to preventing money laundering, terrorist financing, and financial crime.
1. Our Commitment
TradeFames Ltd is fully committed to complying with all applicable anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations. We operate under the supervision of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and adhere to the UK Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017.
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward money laundering, terrorist financing, and any other financial crime. All employees and service providers are required to uphold the highest standards of compliance.
2. Know Your Customer (KYC)
Before you can deposit funds or withdraw, you are required to complete our identity verification process. This includes submitting a valid government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID, or driver's licence) and proof of residential address dated within the last three months.
Depending on your account activity and jurisdiction, we may also request proof of source of funds or source of wealth. Enhanced due diligence applies to politically exposed persons (PEPs) and high-risk clients. Failure to complete verification will restrict your account.
3. Ongoing Monitoring
We continuously monitor account activity for unusual or suspicious patterns that may indicate money laundering or other financial crime. Our systems flag transactions that are unusually large, inconsistent with your profile, structured to avoid reporting thresholds, or involve high-risk jurisdictions.
All suspicious activity is reviewed by our dedicated compliance team. Where required, we submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the National Crime Agency (NCA) in the UK and relevant authorities in other jurisdictions.
4. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on TradeFames: (a) depositing funds derived from illegal or criminal activity; (b) structuring transactions to avoid AML reporting thresholds; (c) using the platform to launder proceeds of crime; (d) providing false identity information; (e) trading on behalf of undisclosed third parties; (f) any activity that facilitates terrorist financing.
Accounts found to be engaged in these activities will be immediately suspended, funds frozen, and information disclosed to relevant authorities.
5. Source of Funds
We may request evidence of the source of funds used to trade on TradeFames, particularly for large deposits or when required by our risk-based approach. Acceptable documentation includes pay slips, bank statements, business accounts, inheritance documentation, or proceeds of asset sales.
We reserve the right to delay processing transactions while source of funds verification is pending. This is a legal requirement and not a reflection on individual clients.
6. Sanctions Compliance
TradeFames screens all clients and transactions against applicable sanctions lists including those maintained by the UK's Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI), the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the European Union, and the United Nations.
We are legally prohibited from providing services to individuals or entities on sanctions lists. Accounts found to be associated with sanctioned parties will be immediately suspended and reported to the relevant authorities.
7. Record Keeping
We maintain records of all customer due diligence, transaction records, and compliance-related documentation for a minimum of 5 years from the end of the business relationship, as required by the Money Laundering Regulations. All records are stored securely and accessed only by authorised personnel.
8. Reporting Concerns
